Simple Buffet Suggestions      Back to Event Details

Feeding a group of 10 or more people is a breeze with a strategically arranged buffet table. We'll help you take the guesswork out of buffet prep.

  • Stop by your neighborhood Publix to find everything you need to top your table in style. To assemble your buffet table, follow this logical sequence: plates first, followed by the main dish, vegetables, salad and bread. Make sure you set out plenty of clean dishes so you aren’t running back to the kitchen for more. Place napkins and utensils at the end of the buffet line so guests can keep their hands free when helping themselves.
  • Add instant flair to your buffet table by elevating the heights of serving dishes, perhaps on tiered serving plates and chafing dishes. Cover small boxes or inverted baking pans with pretty fabric for an inexpensive and attractive display.
  • If you’re planning on a large crowd, save time by allowing for a two-line flow. Guests should have sufficient space to serve themselves. To create more room, set up a separate table for beverages and desserts.
  • Attendees may have dietary needs, such as diabetes or food allergies, so be sure to provide healthy options—they’ll appreciate your thoughtfulness! Include choices such as bite-size fruits and veggies, and offer sugar-free and alcohol-free beverages. Place handy recipe cards by each platter so guests can check for ingredients they’d prefer not to eat.
  • Avoid foods that are messy or hard to eat when standing. And to ensure that everyone enjoys the dining experience, keep the buffet fresh and well-stocked.
