The Vineyards
Maison Louis Jadot, renowned wine house founded in 1859, has grown to control approximately 410 acres of vineyards that include some of the most prestigious Premiers and Grands Crus of the Côte d’Or. Using the highest standards of quality, Maison Louis Jadot releases wines that best express the terroir of Burgundy.
Louis Jadot makes and sells Burgundy, and nothing but Burgundy. “The talent of a house like ours is to represent the multiplicity of Burgundy,” proclaims Pierre-Henry Gagey, president, and that means the whole of Burgundy, from Chablis to Beaujolais. Every single bottle is sold with the Louis Jadot label. Pierre-Henry Gagey’s vision is clear: no compromise on quality, with ever-greater control over raw materials.
Jacques Lardière, Technical Director and widely acknowledged to be one of Burgundy’s finest winemakers, has crafted Maison Louis Jadot’s wines for over 35 years. He intimately understands the terroirs of Burgundy and has the ability to use Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Gamay to best express the entire spectrum of Burgundian terroir.

Mention Beaujolais to a wine-lover and images of fresh, exuberant wines bursting with fruit immediately come to mind. The charm of the wines is echoed in the beauty of Beaujolais’ winding roads, which meander through sloping hills and fields, planted with vines as far as the eye can see.
Winemaking
The fruit for this wine is sourced exclusively from the best vineyards in designated villages within the Haut Beaujolais (northern Beaujolais) where the schist and granite in the subsoil are ideal for the Gamay grape. Louis Jadot’s vinification facility located in Beaujolais and dedicated to Beaujolais ensures quality control.
A major part of the blend comes from special growing areas distinguished as “Cru Beaujolais” that add increased complexity and full-bodied flavor to the wine. These Cru vineyards are similar to Grands Crus or the highest level of quality available.
