Management opportunities

As in our traditional Publix stores, many management positions are filled through promotion from within. However, sometimes outside candidates are considered for the positions listed below.

Fresh Foods Senior Manager: oversees the Bakery, Meat, Produce, Traditional Deli, and Prepared Foods departments
Fresh Foods Manager: manages operations in the Bakery, Meat and Produce departments
Culinary Manager: manages operations in the Traditional Deli and Prepared Foods departments
Grocery and Customer Service Senior Manager: oversees the Grocery and Customer Service departments
Grocery Manager: manages operations in the Grocery Department, including fine wines and body care
Customer Service Manager: manages operations in the Customer Service Department

Team Leaders

Team Leaders are responsible for facilitating the operations of a specific department. This includes being responsible for the total operation and customer satisfaction in that department in the absence of the Manager. There are two Team Leaders in every department.

Product Specialists

Nearly every department has several Product Specialists who must be product experts on all items sold in that department.

Publix GreenWise Market associates enjoy most of the same benefits offered to associates in our traditional Publix stores. The three exceptions are:

Publix GreenWise Market managers are allowed to wear more casual attire.
Publix GreenWise Market managers and team leaders receive additional skills training.
The Quarterly Retail Bonus is given to management and full-time associates.

Once inside the Publix GreenWise Market or the designated Publix store, please go to the Job Application Center, or the JAC as we call it. The average time to complete an application is about 45 minutes—about 20 minutes to provide education and work experience information and about 25 minutes to take a test. You can take the test right after you complete the first part or you can take it up to 7 days later. You can't retake the test for 6 months, so give it your best shot!
