ContributionsOur teams of Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for maintaining everything from our fleet of trucks and trailers and our automated storage and retrieval systems to our Distribution Center buildings and lift trucks. They do this through systematic preventive maintenance that incorporates industry best practices. Without our Maintenance Mechanics, Distribution couldn't keep our warehouses running smoothly enough to deliver the right products to the right stores in time to meet our customers' needs.
OpportunitiesPeriodically, we have openings for Maintenance Mechanics in our Distribution Centers. These Distribution Centers are located in Florida (Boynton Beach, Deerfield Beach, Jacksonville, Lakeland, Miami, Orlando and Sarasota) and Georgia (Lawrenceville). Starting pay rates depend on a mechanic's knowledge and experience. Future pay increases are based on performance. Qualifications Required qualifications for all Maintenance Mechanics include the ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals as well as the ability to generate and process work on a computerized maintenance-management system. Required qualifications that differ for each type of maintenance mechanic include the following: ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems) Maintenance Mechanic - One year experience in Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems or a related trade
- Knowledge in pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical theory, including three phase power, A.C. and D.C. power circuits, motor controls and programmable logic controllers
- Knowledge of various electrical and industrial codes
- Knowledge of the crane system and conveyor equipment
Lift Truck Maintenance Mechanic
- Mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of industrial powered equipment, as well as, knowledge of circuits and operational sequence of components
- One year experience in industrial powered equipment maintenance
Trailer Maintenance Mechanic
- Valid Class "A" Commercial Drivers License (within 90 days of his or her start date in the position)
- Knowledge of parts and components of trailers and of welding techniques on aluminum and steel
Fleet Maintenance Mechanic
- Able to obtain an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Medium/Heavy Truck Certification
- Valid Class "A" Commercial Drivers License (within 90 days of his or her start date in the position)
- Basic knowledge of welding techniques on aluminum and steel
- One year of medium/heavy duty truck trade school or equivalent experience
In-House Maintenance Mechanic
- At least one year experience in building/industrial maintenance or a related trade
- Mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of industrial powered equipment
- Knowledge of warehouse plumbing, ARC, MIG, GAS welding and cutting
- Knowledge of D.C. voltage circuits and operational sequence of components
- Carpentry skills and basic knowledge of electrical (A.C. and D.C.) theory
Refrigeration Maintenance Mechanic
- At least one year experience in industrial refrigeration equipment maintenance
- Mechanical, electrical, electronic and diagnostic knowledge of industrial refrigeration equipment
- Knowledge of proper handling and recycling instructions for chlorofluorocarbon (CFC), hydro chlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) and ammonia refrigerants
- Obtain an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 certification (within 6 months of his or her start date in the position)
