It Pays to Join Our Store Team
Every Publix Super Market is a multi-million dollar enterprise that offers rewarding career paths and exciting earnings potential. Each of our more than 1,000 stores is staffed with an average of 130 associates, providing extensive employment opportunities.
Many of these opportunities are for part-timers needing flexible schedules to accommodate their academic studies, their family responsibilities or their retirement lifestyle.
Full-time, non-management associates can earn as much as $25,000 per year, depending on pay rate, hours worked, and experience. And there is a clear career path leading to management from nearly every job in the store.
If you want to be considered for a management position, you will know—in advance—exactly what experience you need to obtain to be eligible. Average earnings for our management positions are as follows.
- $44,991 per year for Assistant Department Managers
- $65,561 per year for Department Managers
- $82,102 per year for Assistant Store Managers
- $112,911 per year for Store Managers
Frequently, there are also opportunities for store associates to transfer to other stores or into positions in other parts of the company like Manufacturing, Distribution, and Corporate Offices.
Additional Benefits
Part-time and full-time store associates may be eligible for two bonuses, as well. The first is a quarterly profit-sharing bonus based on the financial performance of the store in which they work. That means the better associates work together as a team, the greater their financial reward. The second is a holiday bonus paid in December. Those are only two of the many benefits offered at Publix.
