Keeping equipment running smoothly for our Manufacturing and Distribution Operations
The associates in our Manufacturing and Distribution operations produce a variety of quality food products and ship millions of cases to our stores each year. Being no simple feat, these operations require skillfully maintained, automated processes and the use of a wide range of industrial equipment, including large capacity ammonia refrigeration systems.
These maintenance operations are carried out by more than 600 associates in various departments of the Publix business unit we call Industrial Maintenance.
Our Industrial Maintenance technicians are the experts at maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment, powered lift equipment, automated shelves and racks as well as, boiler-, compressed air-, water- and refrigeration systems. The work our Industrial Maintenance associates perform is critical to ensuring our production and shipping operations run smoothly for Publix.
Industrial Maintenance associates perform their duties across 10 manufacturing facilities including two Bakery Plants, three Dairy Plants, one Deli Plant, three Fresh Foods Plants, and a Printing Services facility. They also perform maintenance across approximately 8 million square feet of warehouse space in eight distribution centers located in Boynton Beach, FL, Deerfield Beach, FL, Jacksonville, FL, Lakeland, FL, Lawrenceville, GA, Miami, FL, Orlando, FL, and Sarasota, FL.

Manufacturing Maintenance: Maintaining and improving the mechanical equipment used in food production
Manufacturing Maintenance associates ensure that the equipment and machinery used to manufacture delicious food products in our plants operate efficiently, safely and in compliance with all regulatory guidelines. They also work to improve the operation of programmable logic- and Human Machine Interface- (HMI) controlled maintenance processes.Here are a few positions on the Manufacturing Maintenance team:
Industrial Refrigeration: Ensuring maintenance and operational best practices in refrigeration systems to keep groceries fresh
From the millions of gallons of fresh milk processed each year to the bakery production lines of frozen sweet goods, rolls, and wire-cut cookies, Publix needs large scale refrigeration systems to keep these items fresh for our customers. This dedicated team of safety-conscious refrigeration maintenance associates ensure adherence to Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and Risk Management plans.

Distribution Maintenance: Keeping shipping and receiving maintenance systems working properly and efficiently
Lift trucks, automated storage and retrieval systems, and in-house maintenance are just a few examples of the kinds of machinery and motors which need ongoing preventive maintenance and occasional repair. Publix's technicians specialize in various kinds of maintenance to keep Distribution operations running smoothly.
