Process Safety Management (PSM) Coordinator

Because Publix Manufacturing facilities use ammonia refrigeration, we need our PSM Coordinators to ensure that our refrigeration systems, equipment, and personnel comply with all ammonia regulations.

To Apply

Contributions

PSM Coordinators organize and maintain the Process Safety Management (PSM) program for Publix ammonia refrigeration systems, equipment, and personnel. PSM Coordinators are assigned to the four Publix complexes that use ammonia refrigeration systems. The PSM Coordinators ensure compliance with PSM and Risk Management Plan (RMP) and all federal, state, and local regulations. As a result, they review system altering capabilities or processes prior to implementation. Furthermore, the PSM Coordinators organize and provide PSM mandated training to all applicable associates and contractors.

Being critical to safety operations, PSM Coordinators review and assist with the Management of Change (MOCs), Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSRs), and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA). They also review all refrigeration action plans for ammonia-related projects to ensure compliance and viability with the PSM program.

PSM Coordinators organize and provide leadership for all 14 elements of PSM by reading and reviewing mechanical and electrical drawings, procedures and ammonia-related programs and policies. In the event of any PSM audit activity, PSM Coordinators serve as the primary respondent. They also actively participate in all refrigeration team activities and programs and work to improve their skills by staying abreast of current technologies. When necessary, PSM Coordinators manage and schedule refrigeration associates for PSM training and Confined Space, Hazmat, and Hot Work training programs.
