Lift Truck Maintenance Technician
Associates who work in Publix's warehouses use lift trucks to constantly move pallets and cases in order to load trucks and keep store shelves stocked with products. Our Lift Truck Maintenance Technicians perform preventative maintenance and repairs to keep this equipment operating properly and safely.
Lift Truck Maintenance Technicians diagnose and perform mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs on a variety of powered industrial equipment, including Publix's lift trucks which are also commonly known as forklifts. They use hand tools as well as computerized testing equipment in order to locate and repair problems. The Technicians read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. To perform preventive maintenance, they routinely check items such as hydraulic fluid levels, tire pressure, the condition of the forks, drive control, steering and the brakes. Furthermore, they use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate and process the maintenance repairs performed.
