Our PositionsThese are some of the positions in our Public Affairs Department.
Our Team StructureThe Public Affairs Department is comprised of five teams: Consumer Relations, Corporate Communications, Government Relations, Media and Community Relations, and Special Projects. Specialists in Consumer Relations handle a growing volume of customer phone calls and emails. The Public Affairs Vice President signs all letters from this area—whether to customers thanking them for contacting us or to associates to share a compliment they have been given. All concerns are forwarded to the appropriate departments for direct responses to each customer. Corporate Communications handles a wide array of internal communications, including but not limited to:
Through Government Relations, Publix communicates to state officials regarding matters affecting the company's ability to effectively compete in the marketplace. A representative from this department is on hand for Florida legislative sessions and keeps abreast of developments in the other four states in which we operate, traveling wherever necessary to represent the best interests of Publix. Each division has Media and Community Relations associates who cultivate relationships with the news media and with residents, businesses, and public agencies in communities we serve. Managers make determinations regarding sponsorships and donations, act as company spokespersons to the media throughout their respective divisions and are the official "face of Publix" at community events. A major function of Special Projects is developing entries for national, state, and local awards, including the prestigious FORTUNE list of the "100 Best Places to Work." This team also helped Publix celebrate its 75th Anniversary.
