Information Systems (I/S) is a diverse organization of more than 1,000 professionals dedicated to maximizing the value of our company through the application of information technology. We operate multiple technology platforms with wide area and local area networks connecting thousands of computers in stores, offices, distribution centers, and manufacturing plants.

I/S designs and develops applications and the infrastructure to support all of Publix's business areas. We support the financial EFT network for point-of-sale and ATM transactions at the stores. We provide customer support for all retail, office, and warehouse hardware and software resources. We also have a computer operations staff for company production processing needs. All development, engineering, processing and support are centralized in our Lakeland facilities.

Why I Love Publix

I first started working as a cashier for Publix during college. After graduation, I transferred to Information Systems as a Help Desk Operator assisting store personnel with system-related problems. I eventually moved into programming and then into systems analysis.

Through the years, Publix has invested in me with technical and professional training to ensure I have everything I need to be successful in my career. The challenges and the rewards of this environment have made it possible for me to advance from a Programmer to IT Management. I never imagined I would enjoy my career so much. I have experienced so many exciting opportunities with my work, and I am always very proud to say I work for Publix.

After 15 years in Information Systems, I still love working for Publix. I am grateful for the opportunities I have every day for professional and personal growth. In addition, I work with incredible people that genuinely care about this company, our mission and our customers.

My husband also works for Publix and has been with the company for 29 years. We are definitely a "Publix" family and appreciate all Publix has done for us.
