Alfredo del Rio is an experienced Brand Ambassador and a passionate Wine professional. After obtaining a degree in Economics, Alfredo went on to complete wine courses from the Spanish Union of Tasters (UEC), the WSET Level 3 Advanced Certificate as well as the WSET Educator Programme in 2011.
Alfredo has been immersed in the wine business for the last 11 years; he began his career at Bodegas Real, a small family owned winery in La Mancha from 2003 to 2007, followed by Domecq Bodegas, a large Spanish wine group from 2007 to 2010, and presently for Pernod Ricard Winemakers, representing their still wine portfolio which includes Jacob’s Creek from Australia, Brancott Estate from New Zealand, Graffigna from Argentina and Campo Viejo from Spain.
Alfredo’s additional qualifications and training include the La Caixa scholarship award in 2003 to study in Canada, where he collaborated in marketing projects for a Canadian wine agent.  He has conducted wine tastings and led training sessions in many countries;  highlights include the Spanish Embassy in Ethiopia, the Spanish Pavillion at the World Expo in Shanghai, China, Sochi, Moscow and San Petersburg, Russia, panelist at the Vancouver (Canada) International Wine Festival, the wine and food workshops at The Streets of Colors events in the UK and wine and food seminars at  Florida International University in Miami, Florida.
Alfredo has been a member of the Committee of experts in foreign markets of the Rioja DO since 2010, and has been responsible for business development of Pernod Ricard Winemakers’ brands in Latin America and the Caribbean.
