Butter-Broiled Tilapia

Firm and white, tilapia has a moist texture and mild flavor that make it very versatile. Tilapia fillets are ideal for a variety of preparation methods, including grilling.

Butter-Broiled Tilapia

Butter-Broiled Tilapia

2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Cooking spray
1 1/2 lb tilapia fillets
2 tablespoons Italian parsley, chopped

  1. Preheat oven to broil. Combine butter, salt, and seasoning. Coat baking sheet with cooking spray; add fish in single layer and top with seasoned butter.
  2. Broil 5-6 minutes or until fish is opaque and separates easily. Sprinkle with parsley.

Other Preparation Methods

Fry: Dip 1 1/2 lb tilapia in beaten egg, then coat with bread crumbs. Preheat 3 tablespoons oil in large sauté pan on medium-high. Cook fish 3-5 minutes on each side or until crust is golden and flesh is flaky. Drain on a paper towel, season and serve.

Grill: Preheat grill to medium. Season 1 1/2 lb tilapia with salt and pepper. Place on lightly oiled foil; grill fish 4-5 minutes on each side or until opaque and it separates easily.
