Skillet Barbecue, Zesty Tomato Mac and Veggie Toss

Total Time - 20 minutes / Makes 4 Servings

Cooking Sequence

  • Put water on to boil for pasta; prepare pork chops through step 3: 5 minutes
  • Prepare cauliflower through step 2 and begin to boil pasta: 5 minutes
  • Complete all recipes and serve: 10 minutes

    Skillet Barbecue

    Ingredients
    1 1/2 pounds pork loin chops with tenderloin
    1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning
    butter cooking spray
    1/4 cup Marsala wine
    1/4 cup hickory-flavored barbecue sauce


    Steps
    1. Preheat large sauté pan on medium-high for 2-3 minutes.
    2. Sprinkle both sides of chops with steak seasoning. Wash hands.
    3. Spray pan with cooking spray. Using tongs, lay chops flat in pan. Cover and cook 6 minutes, turning halfway through cook time.
    4. Pour wine and barbecue sauce over top of chops. Turn chops several times to mix ingredients and coat thoroughly.
    5. Cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer 6 minutes, turning halfway through cook time. Serve.

    Zesty Tomato Mac

    Ingredients
    1 (14-ounce) box deluxe sharp Cheddar macaroni and cheese
    1 (14 1/2-ounce) can stewed tomatoes (drained)


    Steps
    1. Fill large saucepan 3/4 full of water, cover and place on high heat to boil for pasta.
    2. Stir pasta into boiling water. Boil 8-10 minutes, or until tender, stirring occasionally.
    3. Drain pasta well and return to pan. Stir in cheese sauce packet and tomatoes.
    4. Cover and let stand 3-4 minutes. Serve

    Veggie Toss

    Ingredients
    1 pound cauliflower and broccoli florets
    1 tablespoon sunflower kernels
    1 tablespoon onion flakes
    1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
    butter cooking spray


    Steps
    1. Wash vegetables and cut into bite-size pieces, if necessary. Place in microwave-safe bowl.
    2. Add sunflower kernels, onions and seasoned salt. Coat florets generously with cooking spray.
    3. Cover and microwave on high 6 minutes. Stir and serve.

    Aprons Advice

    For a thicker sauce, remove chops and add 1 tablespoon flour. Stir until flour is dissolved. Simmer on medium until sauce thickens.
