About Spinach

Spinach is dark green and has a slightly bitter taste. Fresh spinach is available year-round and is an excellent source of vitamin A and vitamin C.

Sauteed Spinach and Garlic

Sautéed Spinach and Garlic

1 tablespoon olive oil
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 (9-oz) bag spinach

  1. Preheat medium sauté pan on medium. Place olive oil and garlic in pan; cook 1 minute or until fragrant.
  2. Add spinach; cook 3-5 minutes or until spinach is wilted.

Other Preparation Methods

Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F. In a 9-inch square baking dish, mix 2 cups chopped spinach with 8 oz softened cream cheese and 2 tablespoons butter. Top with 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese and bake 30 minutes.

Steam: Add 9 ounces spinach to 1/2 cup lightly salted water; cover and cook 3-5 minutes or until wilted. Serve in your favorite pasta.
