Ingredients

... For the gift jar
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 cup instant oatmeal
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup white chocolate morsels
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 quart mason jar with lid

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
Cooking spray
1 large egg (or 1/4 cup egg substitute)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

... To assemble gift jar
  1. Layer all ingredients in jar. Place lid tightly on jar and give as gift with cooking instructions.
... Cooking Instructions
1. Set 1/2 cup butter out to soften. Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat baking sheet with spray. Place butter in large bowl, then beat with electric mixer until fluffy. Beat in 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
2. Gently stir (or fold) in contents of jar until dough is formed. Scoop cookies (about 3 tablespoons each) onto prepared baking sheet. Bake 8–10 minutes or until edges have browned and center is soft. Let stand 5 minutes on baking sheet to cool before removing; serve. (Makes about 16 cookies.)
