Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil
- 1 lemon, for zest/juice
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 2 lb crab legs
Steps
- Chop basil leaves finely. Zest lemon (½ teaspoon), then juice (1 tablespoon). Melt butter; stir in basil, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
- Place crab legs in steamer basket, bending legs at joints if needed to fit, then place basket in stockpot. Add water to pot to just below basket.
- Bring to a boil, then cover and steam 5–6 minutes until meat is firm and 145°F. Twist legs at joints or split shell using kitchen shears. Peel back shell and remove meat. Serve with butter sauce.
