March is Red Cross Month
Publix – “Not just a supermarket”
We’re Making a Difference in the Communities We Serve
Publix joins the American Red Cross in support of Disaster Preparedness.
Every March, the American Red Cross celebrates Red Cross Month. March was first proclaimed as Red Cross Month 70 years ago by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Since 1943, every president has designated March as Red Cross Month. The American Red Cross is synonymous with helping people and has been doing so for more than 130 years.
Publix is proud to support the work of the American Red Cross, and has always been overwhelmed by the generosity of our customers and associates who have joined us in support during disasters.
Publix began in Florida, one of the most disaster-prone states in the US, and we are working with the American Red Cross to help them spread the word about a campaign launching this month to make sure more Floridians are ready for disasters. If you live in Florida, visit: http://www.redcross.org/prepareflorida for more information.
We encourage you to learn more, take a Red Cross class in First Aid, CPR and/or AED or lend financial support. Please visit www.redcross.org and join us in support of the American Red Cross.
